Top Maps and Navigation Apps on Android in Central America Q3 2024

During the third quarter of 2024, the maps and navigation category on the Android platform in Central America saw significant activity. According to Sensor Tower data, the top five applications in this category demonstrated varied trends in downloads and active user engagement.

DiDi Rider: Affordable rides showed a consistent increase in downloads, peaking at approximately 178K in early September. The app also maintained a robust base of active users, rising from around 4.6M to over 5M by the end of September.

Uber - Request a ride experienced a similar trend in downloads, with a peak of about 161K downloads in early September. Active users remained consistently high, fluctuating around 5.7M to 6M throughout the quarter.

Phone Tracker had a dynamic quarter, with downloads starting strong at around 203K in early July but tapering off to about 22K by the end of September. Despite this, active users saw growth, reaching nearly 600K by the quarter's end.

inDrive. Save on city rides saw a steady increase in downloads, peaking at 132K in early September. The app maintained a stable active user base, hovering around 2.4M throughout the period.

Finally, Waze Navigation & Live Traffic experienced consistent download numbers, with a peak of about 106K in early August. Active user numbers remained strong, slightly increasing from 1M to around 1.1M by the end of the quarter.
