During the third quarter of 2024, the music and podcast app landscape on Android in the Middle East showcased a variety of performance trends, according to data from Sensor Tower.
Spotify: Music and Podcasts saw its weekly revenue fluctuate, peaking at about $46K at the end of September. Weekly downloads remained relatively stable, starting at around 29K and slightly declining to approximately 25K by the quarter's end. The app's weekly active users showed a gentle downward trend from over 1.2M to around 1.1M.
Anghami: Play music & Podcasts experienced varied weekly revenue, with a high of approximately $12K towards the end of July. Downloads showed a declining trend, starting at 11K and dropping to 6.8K by late September. Active users initially increased to 281K in late July before decreasing to 211K by the end of the quarter.
Apple Music maintained a relatively stable weekly revenue, hovering around $3K. Downloads spiked mid-quarter, reaching as high as 17K in August before stabilizing around 3.5K. Active users saw a notable increase to 140K in mid-August, followed by a decline to approximately 110K.
Deezer: Music & Podcast Player had a modest revenue pattern, generally around $1.5K, with a peak of $2.1K in early September. Downloads were relatively low, with a peak of 1.3K at the end of July. Active user numbers hovered around 7K, with a slight increase to 8.2K in late July.
Zing - Jewish Music Streaming reported weekly revenue mostly around $1.3K, with minor fluctuations. Downloads remained low throughout the quarter, peaking at 164 in mid-August.
