2026 State of Mobile is Live!

During the third quarter of 2024, the top five navigation and maps applications on the Android platform in Europe exhibited diverse performance trends. This analysis, powered by Sensor Tower data, provides a brief overview of the weekly downloads and active user metrics for these leading apps.
Waze Navigation & Live Traffic started the quarter with approximately 243K downloads, which peaked at around 350K in mid-August before gradually declining to around 215K by the end of September. Its weekly active users followed a similar trend, starting at 4.9M and reaching a peak of approximately 5.4M in mid-August before tapering off to 4.6M.
Yandex Maps and Navigator maintained a relatively steady download rate, beginning the quarter with roughly 157K weekly downloads and ending with about 114K. The app's active user base started at 12.5M, showing a slight increase to 13.1M in early September before settling at around 12.7M.
2GIS: Offline map & navigation saw a steady rise in downloads, starting at 126K and peaking at 157K in late August. Meanwhile, its active user count saw an upward trend, beginning at 3.8M and closing the quarter at approximately 4M.
Yandex Navigator experienced a gradual decline in downloads, from 130K in early July to 111K by the end of September. Its active users also decreased, from around 3.5M to 3.1M over the quarter.
Finally, Google Earth had a relatively stable performance in terms of downloads, fluctuating between 108K and 122K throughout the quarter. Active users exhibited a slight decrease, starting at 1.1M and ending at 1M.
