In the third quarter of 2024, the top navigation and maps apps on Android in Mexico showed varying trends in downloads and active user engagement, as revealed by Sensor Tower data.
Waze Navigation & Live Traffic maintained a robust presence with downloads peaking at approximately 66K in early August. Weekly active users saw a gradual increase, reaching around 581K in late September, indicating consistent user engagement.
Google Earth experienced a decline in downloads throughout the quarter, starting from about 34.5K in early July and dropping to around 19.9K by the end of September. Active users mirrored this trend, with numbers decreasing from 181K to approximately 165K over the same period.
Offline Maps, GPS, Speedometer observed a significant upswing in downloads, particularly in September, with figures rising from about 3.9K in early July to over 26.5K by the end of the quarter. Active users also increased, reaching over 25K by late September.
Live Earth Map & GPS Map showed fluctuating download numbers, with a peak of about 13K in late August. Active user numbers saw a consistent rise throughout the quarter, closing at approximately 31K in September.
Radar Map, Radar Detector, HUD demonstrated a remarkable growth in both downloads and active users. Downloads surged from a modest 155 in early July to a substantial 39.5K by the end of September. Similarly, active users increased from about 56.7K to over 103K, reflecting the app's growing popularity.
