During the third quarter of 2024, the top social apps on Android in Central America demonstrated distinct trends in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users. Based on data from Sensor Tower, here’s a closer look at how these apps performed:
TikTok showed a robust performance with weekly revenue peaking at around $131.6K by late September. Downloads fluctuated, with a notable peak of approximately 601K in mid-August, while active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 34M throughout the quarter.
Grindr - Gay Dating & Chat had a steady revenue stream, maintaining an average weekly revenue close to $23K. Downloads saw a slight decrease over the quarter, finishing at about 9.3K weekly by the end of September. Active users remained consistent, averaging over 210K per week.
Instagram experienced a slight dip in revenue mid-quarter, but it rebounded to about $20.8K weekly by the end of September. Downloads increased steadily, reaching as high as 387K in early September. Active users consistently grew, ending the quarter with over 53.6M weekly.
Facebook maintained a steady revenue, with slight fluctuations averaging around $20K weekly. Downloads saw an increase mid-quarter, peaking at approximately 375K in mid-August. Active users remained high, consistently surpassing 72M throughout the quarter.
BuzzCast - Live Video Chat App experienced a stable revenue pattern near $16K weekly. Downloads showed a downward trend, ending at around 7.6K weekly. Active users remained relatively stable, maintaining a weekly average close to 126K.
