Top 5 Social Apps on Android in the US, Q3 2024

During the third quarter of 2024, the top five social apps on the Android platform in the United States showed varying trends in revenue, downloads, and active users, according to data from Sensor Tower.

TikTok maintained a strong presence with its weekly revenue peaking at approximately $8.5M in the final week of September. The app's weekly downloads fluctuated, reaching a high of 676K in the last week of the quarter. However, there was a noticeable decline in weekly active users, starting at 43M at the beginning of July and ending at about 41.6M by the end of September.

Bigo Live - Live Streaming App saw its weekly revenue increase towards the end of the quarter, reaching approximately $569K. Downloads peaked at 70.1K in early September, while weekly active users fluctuated slightly, ending the quarter at around 774K.

Grindr - Gay Dating & Chat experienced a gradual increase in weekly revenue, culminating at nearly $491K in the last week of September. Downloads showed a decreasing trend, falling to 11.8K by the quarter's end, while active users decreased from 668K to 584K over the same period.

Facebook had a relatively stable quarter with weekly revenue reaching approximately $290K by the end of September. The app experienced a decline in downloads, closing the quarter with 169K. However, active users remained robust, maintaining an average of around 118M throughout the quarter.

Plenty of Fish Dating App saw its weekly revenue decrease to about $228K by the end of September. Downloads were highest in early September at around 22.4K, while active user numbers fell from 258K to 173K over the quarter.
