In the third quarter of 2024, the top apparel applications on the iOS platform in South Africa showcased varied performance trends. The data, sourced from Sensor Tower, provides insights into weekly downloads and active user metrics for these popular apps.
SHEIN - Shopping Online saw a notable increase in weekly downloads, starting at around 12K in early July and peaking at over 21K by the end of August. However, downloads declined slightly towards the end of September, closing the quarter at approximately 16.8K. The app maintained a stable base of weekly active users, fluctuating between 200K and 235K throughout the quarter.
Cotton On experienced a fluctuating download trend, beginning with 3.3K in the first week of July and hitting a peak of nearly 5.5K mid-month. Downloads decreased in August but saw a slight resurgence in September, ending the quarter at about 1.8K. Active users mirrored this pattern, with numbers ranging from approximately 4K to 7K.
Nike: Shoes, Apparel, Stories maintained a consistent download rate, starting at 3.5K and gradually decreasing to 2.9K by the end of September. The active user base was stable, with minor fluctuations, ranging from 31K to 32K throughout the quarter.
MyRunway SA Fashion Shopping showed a peak in downloads during July, reaching 3.7K, before experiencing a decline in August and September, ending the quarter at 1.9K. Unfortunately, active user data was not available for this app.
adidas: Shop Shoes & Clothing started the quarter with 2.5K downloads, facing a downward trend in July, but recovered in September, peaking at 2.6K before closing at 1.9K. The number of active users showed a slight increase towards the end of the quarter, reaching 13.5K.
