In the third quarter of 2024, the carpooling and ridesharing landscape in Italy witnessed interesting trends across the top five apps, as reported by Sensor Tower.
Uber - Request a ride saw a varied download pattern, starting the quarter with approximately 28.8K downloads and peaking at nearly 48.9K in mid-August. The app maintained a strong user base with weekly active users fluctuating between 620K and 732K, closing the quarter at around 708K.
For Bolt: Request a Ride, downloads showed a rising trend initially, reaching a high of about 33.2K by mid-August, before gradually decreasing to 15K by the end of September. Active users mirrored this trend, increasing to around 106K before slightly declining to approximately 87.8K by the quarter's end.
BlaBlaCar: Carpooling and Bus experienced a steady download rate, starting at 5.8K and ending at about 4K. Active users remained relatively stable, with minor fluctuations around the 30K mark throughout the quarter.
Cabify demonstrated a moderate download increase from 2.8K to a peak of 6.6K in early August, then gradually declined to 2.7K by the end of September. Active users increased from approximately 18K to 28.1K in early August, before tapering off to about 20.5K.
inDrive. Save on city rides showed a gradual increase in downloads, peaking at 4.8K in mid-August and closing the quarter at around 2.7K. Active users grew from 9.8K at the start to a peak of 12.7K in mid-August, then settled at approximately 10.3K by the end of the quarter.
