The third quarter of 2024 witnessed intriguing trends in the carpooling and ridesharing app sector in Latin America. Analyzing the unified platform data from Sensor Tower, the top five applications showcased varying patterns in downloads and active user engagement.
Uber - Request a ride maintained a consistent presence with weekly downloads fluctuating around the 630K to 705K range. The app's active user base showed resilience, with numbers hovering between 28M and 30M, indicating a stable user engagement throughout the quarter.
DiDi Rider: Affordable rides experienced a notable increase in weekly downloads, reaching a peak of over 753K in early September. The active user count also saw a gradual rise, starting at approximately 9.7M and peaking at over 10.5M by the end of the quarter, reflecting a growing user interest.
inDrive. Save on city rides maintained a steady download rate, with figures ranging from 458K to 519K. The number of active users displayed a slight decrease initially but rebounded to over 11.1M by the quarter's end, showcasing a sustained user engagement.
Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver saw a gradual decline in weekly downloads, starting at nearly 296K and decreasing to around 195K. Despite this, the active user base remained relatively stable, ending the quarter with about 3.2M users actively engaged with the app.
Lastly, Yango: taxi, food, delivery experienced varied download figures, starting at 272K and ending with 200K. Active user numbers showed a positive trend, growing from approximately 629K to over 636K by the end of September.
