During the third quarter of 2024, the performance of the top five carpooling and ridesharing apps in Mexico on a unified platform exhibited some interesting trends. According to data from Sensor Tower, these apps showed notable shifts in downloads and weekly active users, though revenue was not a factor for any of them.
DiDi Rider: Affordable rides saw a consistent increase in downloads, peaking at approximately 213K in the week of September 9. The app maintained a strong presence with weekly active users starting at 5.4M and reaching nearly 5.9M by the end of September.
Uber - Request a ride also displayed a positive trend in downloads, with numbers climbing to around 185K in early September, before experiencing a slight decline towards the end of the month. Its weekly active users grew steadily, starting at 5.1M and peaking at 5.5M in late September.
inDrive. Save on city rides experienced a moderate increase in downloads, reaching a high of 124K in mid-September. However, its weekly active users fluctuated, beginning at 2.6M, dipping slightly mid-quarter, and ending at 2.4M.
DiDi Driver: Drive & Earn Cash showed a steady growth in downloads with a peak of 85K in early August. The app's weekly active users also rose from 393K to 444K by the end of September.
Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver had a varied download pattern, starting strong at 81K in mid-August but witnessing a drop to 26K by the end of September. Despite this, the app's active user base remained relatively stable, hovering around 600K throughout the quarter.
