In the third quarter of 2024, the top carpooling and ridesharing apps in South America demonstrated varied performance trends on the unified platform. Here's a closer look at the performance of these leading apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.
Uber - Request a ride saw weekly downloads fluctuate between 430K and 503K. Active users remained relatively stable, with a slight increase towards the end of the quarter, reaching approximately 22.5M.
inDrive. Save on city rides experienced a downward trend in downloads from 367K to around 306K by the end of September. Active user numbers showed a similar pattern, starting at 8.7M and decreasing to about 8.1M.
DiDi Rider: Affordable rides had a notable peak in downloads, reaching over 538K in early September, before settling around 303K by the end of the month. The app's active users grew steadily from 3.9M to 4.3M.
Yango: taxi, food, delivery downloads remained fairly consistent, with minor fluctuations around 186K to 240K. Active users increased slightly from 559K to about 578K during the quarter.
Finally, Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver showed a decline in downloads, starting at 184K and ending at 146K. Active user figures stayed stable, oscillating around 2.4M, with a slight rise at the end of September.
