In the third quarter of 2024, the top city building games on a unified platform in South Africa showed varied performance in terms of weekly downloads, revenue, and active users. Here's a closer look at each game's performance based on Sensor Tower data.
SimCity BuildIt from Electronic Arts experienced fluctuations in weekly revenue, peaking at around $3.4K in late July and showing a dip to $1.9K in early September. Weekly downloads saw a moderate increase, with a peak of approximately 1.7K in late September. The number of active users followed a similar trend, rising from 9.6K in early July to 11.7K by the end of September.
Puzzles & Chaos: Frozen Castle by BUILDING-BLOCKS NETWORK TECHNOLOGY CO., LIMITED showed a steady increase in weekly revenue, reaching a high of $2.6K in early September. Although the weekly downloads remained low, active users increased slightly from 170 in early July to 210 by late September.
Merge County® from Microfun Limited saw a gradual rise in weekly revenue, peaking at $1.8K in early August. Downloads were low throughout the quarter, but active users showed a slight decline from 539 in early July to 231 by the end of September.
The Tribez: Build a Village by Game Insight had a notable increase in revenue, reaching a high of $788 in mid-September. However, the game had no significant downloads or active user data to report during this period.
Global City: Building Games from MYGAMES MENA FZ LLC experienced a significant spike in downloads in mid-July, reaching over 7.8K. Revenue showed some fluctuations, peaking at $342 in late August, while active users increased considerably in mid-July to nearly 14.8K before stabilizing around 6.5K towards the end of September.
