In the third quarter of 2024, the top communication apps in Colombia showed varied performance metrics across downloads, revenue, and active users, according to Sensor Tower data.
WhatsApp Messenger maintained a robust presence with weekly downloads starting at around 213K and peaking at approximately 353K in mid-August, before closing the quarter at 259K. The app's active user base saw a gradual increase, beginning at 21.5M and reaching 21.9M by the end of September.
Telegram experienced a consistent weekly revenue stream, starting at around $3.8K and rising to about $5.2K by the end of the quarter. Downloads fluctuated, with a notable peak of 253K in late August, and active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 2M throughout the quarter.
WhatsApp Business saw an upward trend in weekly revenue, from $1.8K in early July to $3.2K by the end of September. Downloads also showed positive growth, beginning at 98K and increasing to 149K. Active users varied slightly, fluctuating between 1.7M and 1.8M.
Truecaller: AI Call Blocker demonstrated stable revenue figures, averaging around $7K weekly, with a spike to $8.3K at the quarter's end. Downloads peaked at 151K in mid-September, while active users saw a significant rise to 1.5M in late August before stabilizing around 1.2M.
Messenger reported minimal revenue impact, with only a brief occurrence of revenue in early August. The app's downloads remained steady, ranging from 89K to 115K, while active users slightly decreased from 7.9M to 7.8M over the quarter.
