Top 5 Communication Apps Performance in France, Q3 2024

In the third quarter of 2024, the top communication apps in France demonstrated notable trends in weekly downloads, revenue, and active users, according to data from Sensor Tower.

WhatsApp Messenger maintained a strong presence with weekly downloads showing an upward trajectory throughout the quarter. Starting at around 124K in early July, it peaked at about 202K by the end of September. The app's active users remained consistently high, beginning at approximately 37.1M and ending the quarter with around 37.7M.

Telegram saw fluctuations in its weekly downloads, starting at 115K and experiencing a peak of 237K in mid-August. Revenue for Telegram showed a positive trend, beginning at $37K and reaching $50K by late September. Its active user base also saw a slight increase, starting from 4.9M and ending at 4.8M.

Snapchat reported a steady increase in revenue, beginning at $289K in early July and reaching $401K by the end of September. Weekly downloads fluctuated slightly, starting at 80K and stabilizing around 98K towards the end of the quarter. Active users remained relatively steady, hovering around 16.6M throughout the period.

Messenger experienced stable weekly download numbers, starting at 81K and concluding the quarter at about 71K. Revenue figures were modest, with a slight increase from $826 in early July to $923 at the end of September. The active user base showed a slight decline, from approximately 22.8M down to 22M.

Discord - Talk, Play, Hang Out displayed a steady weekly revenue trend, starting at $75K and ending at $80K. Downloads gradually increased from 47K to 53K over the quarter, while active users saw growth from 5.5M to 5.8M.
