In the third quarter of 2024, Sensor Tower's analysis of Germany's top entertainment apps on a unified platform revealed diverse performance trends across downloads, revenue, and active user metrics.
Netflix saw its weekly revenue hover around the $100K mark, peaking at approximately $115K in late September. Downloads remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 59K and 68K, while active users exhibited a minor increase, reaching about 5.4M by the end of the quarter.
TikTok experienced a steady climb in weekly revenue, starting at $3.3M and peaking at $4.3M in September. Weekly downloads varied, with a notable uptick in late September reaching over 153K. Active users remained consistent, averaging around 10.9M throughout the quarter.
Amazon Prime Video showed fluctuations in revenue, starting at $751K and rising to nearly $976K by the quarter's end. Downloads remained mostly stable, with a slight rise in September reaching 75K. Active users saw a significant increase, ending the quarter at approximately 2.7M.
Disney+ recorded weekly revenue ranging from $877K to $1.1M, with a peak in the final week of September. Downloads showed an upward trend towards the end of the quarter, reaching about 83K. The active user base exhibited a steady increase, closing at around 2.6M.
ARD Mediathek, despite having no revenue data, displayed varied download numbers, beginning at 140K and settling around 31K by the end of September. Active users fluctuated throughout the quarter, stabilizing at approximately 500K.
