In the third quarter of 2024, the MOBA genre saw notable activity among the top five applications in Latin America. According to Sensor Tower data, these apps displayed varied trends in terms of weekly downloads, revenue, and active users.
Brawl Stars from Supercell started the quarter strong with weekly revenue peaking at about $1.1M in early July. Revenue took a dip mid-quarter but rebounded to approximately $1.04M by the end of September. Downloads saw a high of 643K in early September, while active users consistently hovered around 16M throughout the quarter, with a slight increase in August.
League of Legends: Wild Rift by Riot Games experienced fluctuations in revenue, peaking at around $307K in early August. Downloads remained relatively steady, ranging from 40K to 55K weekly. The app maintained a stable active user base, with numbers staying close to 750K toward the end of the quarter.
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang from Shanghai Moonton Technology Co., Ltd. showed a gradual decline in revenue, starting at $214K and closing the quarter at approximately $182K. Downloads followed a similar pattern, with a notable dip in September but recovering to 137K at the quarter's end. Active users remained largely stable, with numbers around 1.9M.
Squad Busters, another offering from Supercell, saw a decrease in downloads from 392K in July to just 96K by September's end. Revenue also showed a declining trend, starting at $196K and dropping to approximately $124K. Active users decreased from 1.5M to about 800K as the quarter progressed.
Finally, Honor of Kings by Level Infinite, despite being a late entrant, showed stable downloads, ranging from 46K to 58K weekly. Revenue was relatively modest, with a peak of $84K in early July and closing at around $47K. Active users started strong at 1.4M but saw a decline to just under 1.1M by the end of September.
