During the third quarter of 2024, the top navigation and maps applications in Portugal demonstrated diverse performance metrics. This analysis, based on data from Sensor Tower, provides insights into the weekly downloads and active user trends for these popular apps.
Waze Navigation & Live Traffic experienced a fluctuating trend in weekly downloads, peaking at approximately 46.5K in mid-August before gradually declining to 19.3K by the end of September. Despite the variations in downloads, the app maintained a robust base of active users, peaking at around 705K in mid-August and ending the quarter with roughly 618K active users.
Google Maps Go maintained a consistent performance throughout the quarter. Weekly downloads hovered around the 10K mark, with a slight peak of 12.4K in mid-August. Active users remained stable, averaging around 1.5M throughout the quarter, showcasing the app's strong user retention.
Via Verde showed a steady trend in weekly downloads with minor fluctuations, peaking at approximately 8.9K in mid-August. The active user base was relatively stable, maintaining around 19K users, despite a slight dip towards the end of the quarter.
Google Earth observed a modest but steady increase in weekly downloads, reaching over 5.6K in late August. The app’s active users increased slightly, peaking at 38.8K in mid-August, and remained consistent throughout the quarter.
Radar Map, Radar Detector, HUD exhibited growth in weekly downloads, starting at 1.1K and peaking at 3.4K in early September. The app’s revenue showed a positive trend, with a notable increase to $108 in the last week of September. Active users increased steadily, reaching approximately 12.2K by the end of the quarter.
