During the third quarter of 2024, the top photo and video applications in Russia showed diverse trends across downloads, revenue, and active user metrics, as tracked by Sensor Tower.
YouTube: Watch, Listen, Stream from Google saw a generally steady revenue stream, peaking at around $89K in late July. Downloads started strong at over 110K in early July but gradually declined to approximately 84K by the end of September. The app maintained a high level of weekly active users, starting at about 87M and slightly decreasing to 81.9M by the quarter's end.
CapCut - Video Editor, developed by Bytedance, showed an upward trend in revenue, starting at $5.2K and reaching $11.5K by the end of September. Downloads remained relatively stable, ranging from 146K to 186K throughout the quarter. Active users fluctuated slightly, beginning at 2.95M and closing the quarter at approximately 2.92M.
Instagram experienced a decline in revenue from $19K in early July to $6.5K by the end of September. Weekly downloads varied between 145K and 193K, with the highest numbers observed in mid-August. Active users saw a mild decline from 12M to 11.3M over the quarter.
Snapchat had minimal revenue, peaking at $85 in the first week of July. Downloads were consistent, averaging around 145K to 161K weekly. Active users remained stable, increasing slightly from 14.5M to 15M by the end of the quarter.
Likee - Short Video Community also showed steady performance. Revenue varied slightly, with a peak of $8K in early July declining to around $4.7K by the quarter's end. Downloads peaked at 270K in early August and settled around 222K by late September. Active users hovered around 12.8M to 13M during the quarter.
