In the third quarter of 2024, the shooter game category in Nigeria saw significant activity, with varying trends across the top five games. This analysis, derived from Sensor Tower data, provides insights into their performance on a unified platform.
Free Fire by Garena International I showed a robust performance throughout the quarter. Weekly revenue peaked at approximately $5.6K in mid-August and closed the quarter at around $4.5K. Downloads remained strong, averaging over 20K per week, with a noticeable peak of 28.4K in late July. Active users showed a general upward trend, starting at 139.7K and rising to 171.9K by the end of September.
Call of Duty: Mobile Season 9, published by Activision Publishing, Inc., experienced a decline in revenue, starting at $11.3K and decreasing to $6.8K by the end of the quarter. Downloads remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 15K and 17.8K weekly. Active users saw a gradual decline from 30.5K to 25.8K over the quarter.
Frontline Heroes: WW2 Warfare from Homa had minimal revenue activity, with occasional small spikes. Downloads peaked in mid-July at 23.1K but generally trended downward, ending the quarter at 12.8K. Active users, however, increased from 79.8K to 93.5K, indicating strong engagement.
Sniper Strike FPS 3D Shooting by Mobile Gaming Studios Ltd. demonstrated a gradual increase in both downloads and active users. Downloads reached a high of 17K in mid-August, while active users grew from 13.1K to 28.5K, suggesting rising popularity. Revenue remained modest, peaking at $59 in mid-September.
Lastly, West Gunfighter by Candy Mobile saw fluctuating download numbers, peaking at 18.4K in early September. Active users spiked to 67.7K around the same time but declined sharply towards the end of the quarter. Revenue was negligible throughout the period.
