In the third quarter of 2024, the top social apps in Central America exhibited varied performance patterns in terms of downloads, revenue, and active user engagement. Here's a closer look at the data from Sensor Tower.
TikTok Lite - Save Data from TikTok Pte. Ltd. showed a significant rise in weekly downloads, peaking at 1.7M in early September. Revenue trends for the app were also noteworthy, with a peak of $600K in late September. Weekly active users maintained a robust presence, increasing slightly from 47.3M to 48.1M over the quarter.
Facebook by Meta Platforms, Inc. recorded a steady download rate, with a peak of 704K in mid-August. Revenue remained relatively stable throughout the quarter, reaching around $51K in the final week of September. The app's active users hovered around 106M, showing minor fluctuations.
Instagram experienced a consistent weekly download pattern, reaching a high of 653K at the beginning of September. Revenue showed subtle changes, culminating at approximately $70K by the end of the quarter. Active user numbers steadily increased from 61.9M to 63.3M, indicating strong user engagement.
Threads, also from Instagram, saw an upward trend in downloads, hitting 525K in late September. Although there was no revenue recorded, the app's active user base grew from 7M to 8.7M, reflecting increasing user interest and interaction.
Lastly, X by X Corp. experienced a fluctuating download pattern, with a peak of 227K in early July. Revenue showed a modest rise, ending the quarter at $24K. Active users, however, saw a decline from 12M to 10.9M over the period.
