During the third quarter of 2024, the United Arab Emirates saw notable trends in the performance of leading social networking applications on a unified platform, as reported by Sensor Tower.
Threads from Instagram, Inc. observed a fluctuating pattern in weekly downloads, peaking at approximately 53.7K in late August, while weekly active users experienced a gradual decrease from around 580K at the start of the quarter to 365K by the end.
Telegram Messenger by Telegram FZ-LLC, based in the UAE, showed steady revenue growth, reaching about $58.7K by the end of September. Weekly downloads exhibited a slight decline towards the end of the quarter, closing at roughly 42.3K, while active users consistently remained above 2.9M, peaking at over 3.1M in late September.
WhatsApp Messenger maintained a strong presence with weekly downloads ranging from 39.9K to 62.2K. The app consistently engaged over 5.7M active users throughout the quarter, ending with around 5.7M in late September.
Botim - Video and Voice Calls saw its revenue fluctuate, concluding the quarter with approximately $9.3K. Despite a decrease in weekly downloads, finishing at 40.8K, active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 1.7M.
Facebook by Meta Platforms, Inc. reported a steady revenue increase, reaching nearly $30K by the end of September. Downloads showed a slight decline towards the end, with figures around 50.1K, while active users consistently surpassed 7.3M, closing the quarter at about 7.4M.
