During the third quarter of 2024, the top travel and local apps in Central America displayed varied performance metrics across downloads and active users, as reported by Sensor Tower.
Airbnb saw a strong start in weekly downloads, peaking at approximately 129K in mid-July. However, a gradual decrease was observed towards the end of the quarter, stabilizing around 87K by late September. The app maintained a healthy user base, with weekly active users increasing from 676K to 718K by the quarter's end.
Google Earth experienced a consistent decline in weekly downloads from 58K in early July to around 37K by the end of September. Despite the decrease in downloads, weekly active users remained relatively stable, starting at 308K and closing the quarter at 284K.
Viva Aerobus also showcased notable trends, with downloads reaching a high of 43K in mid-July, followed by a slight decline, ending the quarter at 37K. Weekly active users mirrored this trend, starting at 132K and finishing at 131K, illustrating steady engagement.
Expedia: Hotels, Flights & Car began the quarter with 40K downloads, peaking at nearly 44K in mid-July, but experienced a downturn to 25K by the end of September. The app's weekly active users fluctuated slightly, beginning at 263K and concluding the period with 258K.
Finally, Volaris saw a steady download rate from 32K in early July, reaching 34K by the end of the quarter. Active users followed a similar pattern, with numbers rising from 87K to 88K over the same period.
