In the fourth quarter of 2024, carpooling and ridesharing apps in Germany exhibited varied performance trends in weekly downloads and active users. According to Sensor Tower, here’s a closer look at the top five apps.
Uber - Request a ride saw its weekly downloads fluctuate, beginning at around 70K and ending the quarter at approximately 78K. The weekly active users for this app showed an upward trend, starting from 1.2M and peaking at 1.4M by the last week of December.
Bolt: Request a Ride experienced a decline in downloads, starting from 43K and dropping to about 42K by the end of the quarter. The active users initially increased to over 1.1M but saw a decrease to approximately 972K by the quarter's close.
Grab: Taxi Ride, Food Delivery showed a positive trend in downloads, rising from 8.5K to 14K. Its active users grew steadily from 25.6K to 44K, indicating increased engagement.
BlaBlaCar: Carpooling and Bus maintained a stable download rate with a minor increase towards the end of the quarter, reaching 9.4K. The active users displayed a significant rise from 246K to a peak of 295K before settling at 212K.
Lastly, Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver had consistent download numbers, ending the quarter slightly higher at 5.3K. The active user count showed a gradual increase, peaking at over 53K.
