In the fourth quarter of 2024, the performance of the top carpooling and ridesharing apps in Ireland revealed intriguing trends. According to data from Sensor Tower, the apps demonstrated varied growth patterns in weekly downloads and active users.
Uber - Request a ride saw a steady increase in weekly downloads, beginning at approximately 6.9K at the start of October and peaking at around 8.2K by the end of the month. This was followed by a slight dip in November, before stabilizing around 7K in December. Weekly active users also exhibited growth from 111.5K to 161.3K by the end of the quarter.
Bolt: Request a Ride experienced fluctuations in downloads, starting at 4.2K and ending with a slight rise to 4.1K. Active users remained relatively stable, with minor increases, peaking at about 37.4K by the quarter's end.
Grab: Taxi Ride, Food Delivery displayed a gradual increase in downloads, moving from 840 to 1.2K. The app maintained a consistent active user base, growing from 50.4K to 56.1K throughout the quarter.
Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver showed stable download figures, ranging from 869 to 831. Active users hovered around 11.2K, with slight variations over the months.
Finally, Lyft had modest download numbers, starting at 440 and increasing to 512 by December. Active users saw a slight increase, from 9.2K to 9.5K.
