In the fourth quarter of 2024, the food delivery sector in the United Kingdom saw notable trends across the top applications, as reported by Sensor Tower.
Too Good To Go: End Food Waste experienced fluctuating weekly downloads, peaking at around 125K in mid-October before declining to approximately 45K by the end of December. Active users started at 2.08M, saw a peak of 2.56M in early November, and ended the quarter at 2.12M.
Uber Eats: Food & Groceries maintained a consistent download rate, beginning the quarter with about 64K downloads and closing with a peak of 70K. Active users varied, starting at 4.39M and reaching nearly 4.89M by year-end.
Just Eat - Food Delivery showed a steady download pattern, with a significant increase to 75K in mid-December. Active users grew from 2.81M at the start to 3.13M by the end of the quarter.
Deliveroo: Food & Shopping saw its downloads fluctuate, with a notable peak of 58K in late October. Active user numbers were robust, beginning at 3.48M, peaking at 3.76M in late November, and ending at 3.38M.
Finally, HelloFresh: Meal Kit Delivery had lower downloads compared to its peers, starting at 16K, dropping to 4.7K mid-December, and rebounding to 16K by quarter's end. Active users started at 387K and finished at approximately 300K.
