In the fourth quarter of 2024, the food delivery app landscape in New Zealand showcased varied trends across the top five applications. Based on data from Sensor Tower, here's an overview of their performance.
DoorDash - Food Delivery experienced fluctuating weekly downloads, peaking at around 9.1K in early November before settling to approximately 7.2K by the end of December. Active users showed a gradual decline from 123.9K to 88.2K over the quarter.
Uber Eats: Food & Groceries saw a steady decrease in weekly downloads, starting at 7.9K and decreasing to about 4.9K. However, the app maintained a strong presence with active users ranging from 195.8K to 204.6K.
Delivereasy had a noticeable drop in downloads, beginning at 4K and declining to 1.8K. Active users slightly fluctuated, peaking at 21.2K in late October and ending the quarter at approximately 15.9K.
DoorDash - Dasher downloads increased from 1.5K to a high of 2K in early November, before decreasing to 1.3K. Active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 7.8K throughout the quarter.
Order Meal - Food Delivery showcased an upward trend in downloads, starting at 914 and peaking at 1.2K in mid-December, with a slight dip to 1.1K by year-end.
