In the fourth quarter of 2024, the top medical apps in South Africa displayed varied performance metrics on a unified platform. Here's a closer look at the trends, based on data from Sensor Tower.
Netcare saw its weekly downloads fluctuate, peaking at around 8K in late October. Active users showed a strong upward trend, moving from approximately 34.8K to over 44K by mid-December.
The GEMS: Member app experienced a gradual increase in downloads, reaching a high of 1.7K in early December. However, data on active users for this app was not available.
Ampath maintained a steady download rate, with numbers hovering around 800 per week, peaking slightly at 936 downloads in early December.
Lancet Labs Mobile showed a strong start in downloads, with figures close to 2K in early October, but later declined to about 944 by the end of December. Active users decreased from 1.4K to just under 1K during the quarter.
Lastly, Dis-Chem Health downloads remained relatively stable, averaging around 500 per week, with a slight dip in mid-December.
