In the fourth quarter of 2024, the top music and audio applications exhibited varied performance trends on a unified platform in the United States. Here’s a look at the key metrics for each app, based on data from Sensor Tower.
Spotify: Music and Podcasts saw its weekly revenue fluctuate, peaking at approximately $1.7M in late December. Weekly downloads surged to around 612K in early December, while weekly active users remained largely stable, ending the year at about 82M.
Pandora - Music & Podcasts experienced a steady weekly revenue with a peak of $6.5M at the start of the quarter. Downloads increased significantly towards the end of December, reaching 173K, while active users closed the quarter at approximately 26M.
Pocket FM: Audio Series reported consistent weekly revenue, reaching around $1M in late November. Downloads saw a notable decline, dropping to 42K by the end of December, and active users also decreased to about 630K.
Apple Music maintained a steady revenue stream, with a peak of $283K in late November. Weekly downloads showed modest fluctuations, peaking at 53K in mid-October, while active users grew steadily to 1.3M by the end of the quarter.
Amazon Music: Songs & Podcasts experienced a gradual increase in weekly revenue, reaching $2.2M in late December. Downloads peaked at 234K during the same period, and active users remained strong, ending the quarter at around 11M.
