Top 5 Shopping Apps in the UK: Q4 2024 Performance

In the fourth quarter of 2024, the shopping app landscape in the United Kingdom saw significant activity across both iOS and Android platforms. Drawing insights from Sensor Tower, we examine the weekly downloads and active user trends of the top five shopping applications.

Temu: Shop Like a Billionaire saw its weekly downloads peak at approximately 217K at the start of October before gradually declining to around 158K by the end of December. Despite this fluctuation, weekly active users remained robust, starting at nearly 9.8M and ending the quarter at about 9.8M, showing resilience through the period.

AliExpress - Shopping App experienced a surge in weekly downloads early in the quarter, reaching close to 200K in late October. However, by December, downloads had decreased to approximately 128K. Active users, however, increased steadily, beginning at 2.5M and closing the year just over 3M.

Tesco Groceries for iPhone maintained a stable download rate throughout the quarter, with a slight peak of 153K in mid-December. Active users showed a slight decline at the end of December, finishing at about 10.5M from an initial 10M.

Shop: All your favorite brands demonstrated a consistent increase in downloads, starting from 101K and peaking at 183K in early December. Active users also rose significantly, from 2.3M at the beginning of the quarter to 3.5M in early December, before settling at 2.7M by year-end.

Finally, SHEIN - Shopping Online experienced a downward trend in downloads, dropping from 169K in early October to around 108K by the end of December. Active users fluctuated, with a notable dip in mid-December to 7M, but recovered slightly to end the year at approximately 7.8M.
