In the first quarter of 2025, the carpooling and ridesharing app market in the UK showed varied performance across different platforms. Here's a look at the top five apps on the Android platform, based on data from Sensor Tower.
Uber - Request a ride maintained consistent weekly downloads, with numbers hovering around 38K to 40K throughout the quarter. Active users fluctuated, starting at approximately 2.3M, dipping slightly in January, but recovering to about 2.4M by the end of March.
Bolt: Request a Ride experienced a positive trend in downloads, starting at around 13K and peaking at 18K by the end of March. The app's active user base demonstrated stability, remaining close to 450K for most of the quarter.
The Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver app's downloads started strong at over 11K but saw a gradual decline to under 10K by the quarter's end. Active users decreased from 264K in early January to about 218K in March, showing a downward trend.
inDrive. Rides with fair fares saw moderate growth in downloads, especially towards the end of the quarter where it increased to over 5K. Active users remained relatively stable, growing slightly from 26K to nearly 29K.
Finally, Grab - Taxi & Food Delivery had a steady download rate of around 4K per week. The app's active user numbers increased from 200K at the start of the quarter to around 219K by the end of March.
