2026 State of Mobile is Live!

In the first quarter of 2025, the fast food and fast casual restaurant apps on the Android platform in Austria showed varied performance trends. Here’s a closer look at the top players, based on data from Sensor Tower.
McDonald's app maintained a robust presence with weekly downloads peaking at approximately 5.6K in mid-March. The app saw an overall increase in downloads throughout the quarter, starting from 2K at the beginning of January. Active users also showed a positive trend, reaching nearly 294K in the second week of March, up from around 193K at the start of the quarter.
For BURGER KING® Österreich, weekly downloads began at 425 and saw a gradual decline, ending the quarter at 407. However, the app's weekly active users increased steadily, peaking at over 6.1K by the end of March.
The McDonald’s Deutschland app experienced fluctuating download numbers, with a low of 150 in late February and a peak of 624 at the year’s start. Active users were highest at the beginning of the quarter with 7K, showing a decrease to about 3.8K by the end of March.
Vapiano Lovers Austria launched during this quarter, with downloads increasing from 18 at the end of January to 530 by the end of March, indicating growing interest and adoption.
Finally, Starbucks Austria saw a modest download rate, peaking at 359 in early February before tapering off to 103 by the end of the quarter.
