In the first quarter of 2025, Norway's top music and podcast apps on the Android platform showed diverse trends in downloads and active user engagement. Here’s a closer look at the performance of these leading applications, as reported by Sensor Tower.
NRK Radio from NRK maintained a consistent download rate, with numbers fluctuating slightly from 1.1K to 882 weekly downloads, peaking at 1.3K in early March. Active users saw a modest decline, starting at 5.5K and dropping to 4.7K by the end of the quarter.
Spotify: Music and Podcasts, developed by Spotify AB, experienced a steady increase in weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $14.2K in late March. Weekly downloads remained stable, averaging around 900, while active users consistently hovered around 530K, showing slight fluctuations throughout the quarter.
Shazam: Find Music & Concerts by Apple Inc. had a stable download trend, starting at 689 and rising to 744 by the quarter's end. Active users remained fairly constant, averaging around 27K.
Spotify - Music and Podcasts for Android TV saw a gradual decline in downloads, starting at 1.1K and decreasing to 531 by the end of March. Active user numbers also showed a slight downward trend, beginning at 4.1K and ending at 3.8K.
Lastly, Podimo - Podcasts & Audiobooks from Podimo exhibited a varied performance. Weekly revenue showed an upward trend, reaching $5.3K in late February. Downloads fluctuated, peaking at 856 in early February, while active users saw a slight increase, starting at 2.2K and peaking at 2.7K in early February.
