The first quarter of 2025 saw significant activity among the top shopping apps on the Android platform in Germany. According to data from Sensor Tower, these apps demonstrated varied trends in weekly downloads and active users.
PAYBACK - Karte und Coupons began the quarter with a peak in weekly downloads at approximately 215K in early January. However, there was a gradual decline, with downloads reaching about 35K by the end of March. Active user numbers showed a fluctuation, starting at 3.8M, dipping mid-quarter, and closing at approximately 3.5M.
REWE - Supermarkt experienced a similar pattern in downloads, starting strong at 158K and tapering off to around 38K. The app maintained a relatively stable active user base, peaking at 3.8M in January and finishing the quarter with about 3.9M.
Temu: Shop Like a Billionaire showed an interesting trajectory with downloads fluctuating between 110K in February and a low of 64K in March. Active users remained relatively steady, hovering around 4.4M throughout the quarter.
Downloads for Lidl Plus began at 73K and showed minor fluctuations, closing the quarter at 51K. The app's active user count increased consistently from 4.8M to 5.3M, indicating a growing user engagement.
Finally, PENNY Angebote & Coupons started with 92K downloads, dropping to 42K by the quarter's end. Active users fluctuated slightly, but there was an overall increase from 1.4M to 1.6M by March.
