In the first quarter of 2025, the virtual pet app category on the Android platform in the Netherlands showed diverse trends in downloads, revenue, and active users. Here's a closer look at the performance of the top five apps in this category, based on data from Sensor Tower.
Pokémon Sleep from The Pokémon Company started the quarter with a weekly revenue of around $4K, which saw fluctuations throughout the quarter, ending at approximately $2.6K. Weekly downloads began at 165, gradually increasing to 282 by the end of March. The app maintained a stable active user base, peaking at 4.3K in early February.
Tamagoo - 3D Slime Simulator by Vexuse experienced a steady weekly revenue, which peaked at $569 in mid-January. Downloads began at 352 and saw a declining trend, closing the quarter at 119. Active users remained consistent, hovering around 2.9K towards the end of the quarter.
My Cat - Virtual pet simulator from Appsyoulove showed significant growth in both revenue and downloads. Revenue rose from $396 at the start to over $600 by the end of March. Downloads peaked at 1.5K in mid-March, while active users increased from 1.8K to 2.4K over the quarter.
My Talking Slimy Slime Pet Cat by Pixeland OU saw a decline in revenue, starting at $429 and ending at $188. Downloads decreased from 404 to 130, and active users followed a similar downward trend, finishing the quarter at 1.9K.
Pengu - Virtual Pets from SLAY GmbH had a varied performance. Revenue started at $211, with minor fluctuations, and concluded at $58. Downloads peaked at 2K in mid-February but dropped to 251 by March's end. Active users peaked at 5.1K in mid-February before decreasing to 3.4K.
