State of AI Apps Report 2025 is Live!
In the first quarter of 2025, the European iOS market for carpooling and ridesharing apps saw significant activity. Here's a look at the performance of the top five apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.
Uber - Request a ride began the quarter with a high of approximately 370K downloads, which tapered to about 214K by the second week of January. The app experienced a consistent increase in downloads, reaching around 269K by the end of March. Active users started at about 7.8M, dipped slightly, and then rose to nearly 7.9M by the quarter's end.
Bolt: Request a Ride started with downloads at approximately 283K, which decreased to around 178K in early January, before gradually increasing to about 211K by the end of the quarter. Active user numbers showed a steady rise from around 5.8M to approximately 5.7M throughout the quarter.
Yandex Go: Taxi Food Delivery had a fluctuating download pattern, starting at about 94K, dipping to around 62K, and climbing back to nearly 98K by the end of March. Active user numbers remained relatively stable, starting at approximately 8.1M and ending at about 8.1M.
Grab: Taxi Ride, Food Delivery saw a gradual decline in downloads from around 74K to about 49K over the quarter. Active users increased slightly from approximately 1.9M to about 2.1M.
BlaBlaCar: Carpooling and Bus experienced a dip in downloads from around 65K to about 48K mid-quarter, with a recovery to approximately 61K by the end of March. Active user numbers showed a similar pattern, starting at about 1.9M and fluctuating before closing at approximately 1.7M.
