In the first quarter of 2025, the crime games genre on iOS in South Africa showcased varied performance across different metrics. Here's a closer look at the top five games based on data from Sensor Tower.
GTA: San Andreas – NETFLIX saw fluctuating weekly revenue, starting at $71 and reaching a high of $73 in late January. Downloads peaked at 1.5K in February, while weekly active users hovered around 6K, with a slight dip towards the end of the quarter.
An Elmwood Trail had a notable spike in downloads, peaking at 1.9K in late January. Revenue showed a similar peak at $94 during the same period, though it tapered off towards the end of March. Active users saw a resurgence, climbing from 1.2K in January to over 1.5K by the end of March.
Hunter Assassin experienced steady growth in downloads, especially in February, reaching over 1K. Revenue peaked at $53 in mid-January, while active users increased significantly, peaking at over 3.4K in late March.
MadOut 2: Grand Racing games demonstrated a steady increase in downloads, culminating in 722 in the final week of March. Revenue peaked notably at $306 in mid-February, with active users rising from 1.3K to nearly 2K by the end of the quarter.
The Grand Mafia showed strong revenue performance, peaking at $1.3K in both December and March. Downloads were highest at 739 at the start of the quarter, while active users remained stable, ending the quarter at 1.3K.
