In the first quarter of 2025, the food delivery sector in Germany saw varied performances across the top five apps on the iOS platform. According to data from Sensor Tower, here’s a look at how these apps fared in terms of downloads and weekly active users.
Uber Eats: Food & Groceries began the quarter with a notable rise in weekly downloads, peaking at around 45.6K in mid-January. However, this number gradually decreased, reaching approximately 27K by the end of March. The app maintained a strong user base, with weekly active users fluctuating around 500K to 580K.
Too Good To Go: End Food Waste experienced consistent download activity, with figures ranging from 28K to 44K throughout the quarter. The app's active users remained robust, averaging over 1.4M weekly, showcasing its popularity in reducing food waste.
Lieferando.de showed a steady download pattern, with weekly downloads hovering between 22K and 34K. Despite this stability, active users saw a slight decline, moving from 2.3M at the start of the quarter to just over 2M by the end.
Wolt Delivery: Food and more had a varied download trend, starting strong at 23K and then stabilizing around 17K towards the end of March. Active users, however, showed resilience, peaking at 412K in early February before settling around 368K.
Finally, Picnic Online Supermarket saw a gradual increase in downloads, from 11K at the start to a peak of 22K in January. Active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 360K and 400K.
