In the first quarter of 2025, the top food delivery services on iOS in the United States showed varied performance trends. Here, we explore the weekly downloads and active users for each app, with data provided by Sensor Tower.
DoorDash - Food Delivery maintained a strong presence with weekly downloads peaking at approximately 351K at the beginning of January, before declining to around 248K by the end of March. The app's weekly active users increased steadily, reaching nearly 18.5M by the quarter's end.
Uber Eats: Food & Groceries experienced fluctuations in downloads, starting the quarter at 186K and ending at 147K. Active users saw a rise from 8.4M to 8.6M, with notable peaks in late January and early March.
For DoorDash - Dasher, downloads remained consistent, starting at 148K and closing at 126K. The app's active user base varied, peaking at over 3.5M in mid-March.
Instacart: Groceries & Food showed a decline in downloads from 113K to 103K. However, active users saw an increase, peaking at 7.1M in mid-February before settling at 6.5M by the end of March.
Lastly, Too Good To Go: End Food Waste had a notable start with downloads reaching 164K in early January. This number decreased to 74K by March's end. Active users grew to 2.2M mid-quarter, before ending at approximately 2.2M.
