In the first quarter of 2025, the top five iOS news apps in Austria demonstrated diverse performance trends in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users. Here's a closer look at each app's performance:
Die Presse from Die Presse Digital GmbH & Co KG saw weekly revenue peaking at around $8.9K in late February. Downloads were relatively stable, ranging from 225 to 369 weekly, while active users remained steady, fluctuating between 4.8K and 5.2K.
X by X Corp. experienced a notable peak in active users at 205K in early March. Weekly downloads started strong at 2.7K in early January but tapered off to 1.4K by the end of March. Revenue showed a peak of approximately $5.9K in the first week of March.
Kleine Zeitung, published by Kleine Zeitung GmbH & Co KG, maintained a consistent download rate, with numbers hovering around 300 weekly. Revenue reached a high of $4.6K in late February, while active users remained stable throughout the quarter, ranging from 6.5K to 6.8K.
DIE ZEIT – Nachrichten from ZEIT ONLINE showed a strong increase in active users, reaching 9.7K in mid-March. Downloads increased steadily, peaking at 383 in early March, and revenue saw a high of $3.3K in the first week of March.
VOL.AT - Vorarlberg Online by Russmedia Digital GmbH displayed a consistent decline in downloads, starting at 106 in early January and dropping to 76 by the end of March. Active users decreased from 2.6K to 2.2K over the quarter, while revenue reached its highest at $2.4K in late February.
