In the first quarter of 2025, the top photo and video applications on the iOS platform in the United States demonstrated varied performance trends. Here's a look at the top five apps based on data from Sensor Tower.
YouTube experienced fluctuations in weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $25.8M in late February. Downloads were highest in early February with around 573K, while active users remained relatively stable, closing the quarter at about 126.3M.
Snapchat saw a growth in revenue, reaching $5.1M in the final week of February. Downloads, however, tapered off to 229K by the end of March. Active users hovered around 47M throughout the quarter, indicating consistent engagement.
Canva: AI Photo & Video Editor showed a notable revenue increase, peaking at $3.1M in late February. Weekly downloads fluctuated, with a high of 329K in the last week of March. Active users grew steadily, ending the quarter at approximately 6.6M.
Google Photos: Backup & Edit maintained steady revenue, with a significant peak of $2.8M in late February. Downloads showed a slight upward trend toward the quarter's end, reaching 179K. Active user numbers were stable, closing at around 35.6M.
CapCut - Video Editor experienced a mixed performance, with revenue peaking at $2.5M in mid-March. Downloads were highest at the start of the quarter with 791K, and active users remained fairly consistent, ending at about 14.9M.
