The first quarter of 2025 showcased intriguing trends for the leading sandbox games on iOS in the United States. Here’s a breakdown of how these games performed, based on data from Sensor Tower.
Roblox started the quarter with impressive weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $12.9M. However, there was a significant decline, with revenue dropping to around $512K by the end of March. Downloads also showed a downward trend, starting from 413K and settling at 261K. The number of weekly active users followed a similar pattern, decreasing from 27M to 21M.
Minecraft: Dream it, Build it! experienced a steady increase in weekly revenue, culminating at $1.3M at the end of the quarter. Downloads fluctuated slightly, ending at 47K, while active users increased from 3.1M to 3.2M during the same period.
IMVU: Fun 3D Avatar Chat Game saw consistent weekly revenue, hovering around $160K to $196K, with downloads remaining relatively stable around 20K. Active users, however, declined from 95K to 45K by the end of March.
One State RP: Role Play Online showed growth in weekly revenue, reaching $194K in mid-March before ending the quarter slightly lower at $176K. Downloads peaked at 70K and then decreased to 38K. Active users increased significantly, hitting 45K before decreasing to 27K.
ZEPETO: Avatar, Connect & Live maintained a steady revenue stream, ranging from $86K to $127K. Downloads varied, peaking at 41K and then dropping to 21K. Active users saw a decline from 233K to 135K over the quarter.
