In the first quarter of 2025, the performance of the top air travel apps on a unified platform in Australia revealed some interesting trends. According to data from Sensor Tower, these apps demonstrated varying patterns in downloads and active user engagement.
Virgin Australia saw a consistent increase in weekly downloads, starting from 17.4K in early January and peaking at 22.8K by late March. The app maintained a strong base of active users, rising from 229K to 266K throughout the quarter.
Qantas Airways also experienced growth in downloads, reaching a high of 20.9K in March, although it ended the quarter with 15.9K. Active users fluctuated, peaking at 614K before dropping to 484K by the end of March.
Jetstar exhibited stable download numbers, ranging between 13K and 15.4K. Its active user count saw a general upward trend, closing the quarter at 182K.
Velocity Frequent Flyer downloads started at 10.4K, increasing to 14.2K mid-quarter, and then stabilizing around 12K. Active users showed a steady pattern, finishing the quarter at 150K.
Flightradar24 | Flight Tracker maintained a consistent download rate, starting at 13.1K and ending at 9.4K. Active users remained steady, averaging around 270K.
