In the first quarter of 2025, the top beauty retail applications in the United States demonstrated varied performance trends on a unified platform. Here's a closer look at how these apps fared in terms of weekly downloads and active users.
Sephora US: Makeup & Skincare saw a fluctuating pattern in weekly downloads, beginning with 167K in early January and dipping to 70K by early March. However, the app experienced a resurgence, peaking at 152K at the end of March. Active users hovered around 3M, with a notable increase to over 3.1M in the final week.
Ulta Beauty: Makeup & Skincare maintained a steady download rate, starting at 136K and decreasing to about 76K towards the end of March. The app's active users initially decreased but rebounded mid-quarter, peaking at 4.8M in early March.
Bath & Body Works | B&BW had downloads starting at 118K, which fluctuated throughout the quarter, ending at approximately 74K. Active users showed a rise from 2.5M in early February to 2.8M mid-March before a decline.
Scentbird Perfume Box experienced a steady number of weekly downloads, averaging around 12K. Active user numbers showed an increase from 82K at the start of the quarter to over 100K by early March, indicating a growing user engagement.
Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics started with 27K downloads, which gradually declined to around 6K by the end of March. The app's active users followed a similar declining trend, starting at 90K and dropping to 42K.
