In the first quarter of 2025, the performance of the top carpooling and ridesharing apps in Ireland showcased varying trends in downloads and active user engagement, as reported by Sensor Tower.
Uber - Request a ride saw a fluctuating download trend, starting the quarter with around 5.5K downloads, peaking at over 7.2K in mid-February, and ending March with approximately 6.8K downloads. Meanwhile, weekly active users began at 161K, experienced a dip to 112K in late January, and rose again to stabilize around 122K by the end of March.
Bolt: Request a Ride experienced a gradual increase in downloads, starting at 3.1K and climbing to 4.3K by the end of the quarter. Active users started at 37.4K, dipped to 24K mid-March, and ended slightly higher at 28K.
Grab: Taxi Ride, Food Delivery maintained a relatively stable download rate, fluctuating between 800 and 1K. Weekly active users showed a positive trend, starting at 56K and rising to approximately 58K by the end of March.
Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver had a consistent download pattern, starting at 831 and ending with 895 downloads. Active users remained steady, beginning at 11K and finishing slightly higher at 12K.
Lastly, Careem – rides, food & more had modest download numbers, starting at 408 and decreasing to 328 by the end of March. Active users showed a slight decline, beginning at 584 and leveling out at 451.
