In the first quarter of 2025, the top communication apps in the Netherlands showcased varying performance trends in terms of revenue, downloads, and active users. Here's a closer look at how these apps fared, based on data from Sensor Tower.
Snapchat from Snap Inc experienced fluctuations in weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $142K in late March. The app's weekly downloads saw a gradual decline, starting at 23.2K in early January and ending at 21.6K by the end of March. Active users remained robust, maintaining around 3.7M users throughout the quarter.
Discord - Talk, Play, Hang Out showed a stable revenue pattern, with a notable increase to $32.5K in late February. Downloads were relatively steady, averaging around 13K per week. Active users saw a rise, reaching approximately 790K by the quarter's end.
Telegram observed a consistent revenue increase, peaking at $30.6K in March. Although downloads slightly decreased from 32K to 23K, active users remained strong, averaging around 2.4M.
Azar: Video Chat, Meet Friends had a revenue peak of $37.3K at the start of the quarter, with a steady decline to $31.4K by March's end. Downloads saw a modest rise from 1.8K to 2.6K, while active users increased to around 10.3K.
Kik — Messaging & Chat App experienced a decline in revenue, ending the quarter at $2.4K. Downloads also decreased from 1.5K to 1.2K, with active users reducing from 34.2K to 25.6K.
