In the first quarter of 2025, the leading communication apps in Israel showcased varied performance trends across downloads, revenue, and active users. Here's a closer look at the top five apps based on data from Sensor Tower.
Messenger from Meta Platforms, Inc. saw a steady increase in weekly downloads, peaking at around 16K in late January. The app maintained a consistent user base with active users fluctuating slightly around 3.1M. Revenue was minimal, with a few peaks reaching up to $6.
WhatsApp Messenger experienced a gradual decline in weekly downloads from 17.5K in early January to under 10K by the end of March. Despite this, active users remained strong, averaging around 8M throughout the quarter.
Telegram showed a dynamic revenue pattern, starting the quarter at approximately $51K and maintaining figures above $40K throughout. Downloads peaked at nearly 28K in late January, while active users hovered around 2.8M.
Snapchat from Snap Inc. had a notable increase in revenue, reaching $25.9K in mid-March. Downloads were relatively stable, ranging between 10K and 13K, while active users fluctuated around 1.6M.
Finally, WhatsApp Business recorded modest weekly revenue, peaking at $5.8K in mid-March. Downloads remained steady, averaging around 9K, with active users showing an upward trend towards the end of the quarter.
