In the first quarter of 2025, the top communication apps in Lebanon showed varying performance trends across downloads, revenue, and active users. Here's a closer look at how each app fared in this period, based on data from Sensor Tower.
WhatsApp Messenger maintained a strong presence with weekly downloads peaking at 46K in early January, though experiencing a gradual decrease to 18K by the end of March. The app consistently engaged over 3.8M active users weekly, with minor fluctuations throughout the quarter.
Snapchat experienced a notable increase in weekly revenue, reaching as high as $1.1K in mid-February. Downloads fluctuated, starting at 31K in early January and seeing a resurgence to 29K in late March. Active users increased steadily, surpassing 937K by the end of March.
Messenger saw a consistent download rate, with numbers hovering around 22K in the early weeks and ending at 15K. Active users showed a decline initially but recovered to over 1.1M by the quarter's end.
WhatsApp Business reported stable weekly revenue, averaging around $1K, with a peak of $1.3K in late February. Downloads saw a steady start with 23K in early January, tapering to 16K by March. Active users fluctuated around 1M, with minor dips observed in February.
Telegram witnessed varied revenue trends, spiking to $2.4K in March. Downloads initially surged to 34K in the first week and adjusted to 13K by the quarter's end. Active users remained robust, consistently above 1.6M throughout the quarter.
