In the first quarter of 2025, the dating app landscape in Costa Rica showed interesting trends across the top five apps. Here's a breakdown of their performance based on data from Sensor Tower.
Tinder Dating App: Date & Chat maintained its strong presence with weekly revenue peaking at around $21K at the start of the quarter and gradually declining to $18K by the end of March. Downloads fluctuated, reaching a high of approximately 2.8K in mid-February, while active users saw a slight decrease from 72K to 67K throughout the quarter.
Bumble Dating App: Meet & Date experienced a notable peak in weekly revenue, hitting about $10.5K in late February. Downloads were highest in early February at 1.6K, and active users varied, with a significant dip in January but recovering to 38K by the end of March.
Grindr - Gay Dating & Chat showed consistent revenue, peaking at $5K in early February. Weekly downloads remained steady, with a slight increase to 623 by the end of March. Active users decreased slightly from 15.7K to 13.8K over the quarter.
Kismia - Meet Singles Nearby saw a revenue peak of approximately $3K in early March. Downloads varied, with a high of 5K in early March. Active users showed some fluctuation, peaking at 10.5K in early February before settling at 7.6K by the end of March.
Azar: 1 on 1 Video Chat Online experienced a gradual decline in revenue from $1.8K to $1.3K. Downloads peaked at 904 in mid-March, and active users showed an upward trend, reaching 4K by the end of March.
