In the first quarter of 2025, the food delivery market in Kenya saw varying performances among the top five players, as detailed by Sensor Tower data. Here's a closer look at the trends for each app on a unified platform.
Glovo: Food Delivery, Takeaway started the quarter with weekly downloads of around 11.9K, which saw a slight dip but recovered significantly to reach 18.1K by the end of March. The app also maintained a strong presence with active users increasing from 208K at the beginning of the quarter to 314K by the end.
Uber Eats: Food & Groceries experienced a sharp decline in weekly downloads from 21.8K in early January to around 1.3K by the end of March. Despite this, the app's active user base remained relatively stable, peaking at 61.8K users mid-March.
Bolt Food saw a consistent download trend, starting at 4.8K and ending at 5.5K. The app's active users grew significantly, moving from 68.7K to a high of 92.2K in early March before settling at 80.6K by the quarter's end.
Dial A Delivery 2.0 showed a fluctuating download pattern, starting at 3.4K, peaking at 4.9K mid-March, and dropping to 798 by the end of the month.
Tushop: Quick Grocery Shopping had a modest download performance, with numbers generally below 1K throughout the quarter, peaking at 634 in mid-January.
