The first quarter of 2025 saw varied performance among the top sports apps in Kenya, as revealed by data from Sensor Tower. Here's a closer look at the weekly downloads and active user trends for these popular apps.
Betika experienced fluctuations in weekly downloads, with a high of about 68.7K in late January, before a decrease to around 35.8K towards the end of March. Active users started at approximately 1.4M and peaked at 1.8M in early February, followed by a gradual decline to 1.4M by the quarter's end.
The Odi bets Betting app showed a significant spike in downloads, reaching approximately 62.1K in late January. Active users varied, beginning at 369K and dropping to around 250K by the end of March, despite a mid-quarter peak of about 393K.
MatchLive: Football Live Score saw downloads peaking at approximately 45.9K in late February, although they fell to around 6.2K by late March. Active users increased steadily to 129K in late February before a decline to 98K by the end of the quarter.
Bangbet maintained a consistent download rate, with numbers generally around the 30K mark. Active users exhibited stability, hovering near 200K throughout the quarter, ending with a slight increase to 200K.
Lastly, SportPesa Betting & Casino App showed a stable download pattern, peaking at about 33.7K in late January. Active users increased from 634K to over 816K in late February before decreasing to 635K by the end of March.
